Christmas owl
Back to work. I really wasn’t feeling it at first but we had a small stand-up (as some people are still away); a planning session and I had a catch-up with another team. I didn’t hear from any of the other product team. I am not sure who was in.
The weather was terrible but we couldn’t convince Mum & Dad to stay in. They booked for Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends at the Gielgud Theatre which Mark had recommended. It’s only playing until the weekend and there were very few tickets available for the matinee but we snagged two and they left before 11pm and had lunch in town. It sounded like they picked well and thoroughly enjoyed it,
When they returned, they said they’d like to buy us dinner. Our initial thought was Mora Meza but they were closed (we assume as it’s still New Year) and so we went to Lime & Thyme. Food was delicious. The service was excellent and it was reasonably busy considering all the other restaurants in the area were closed.
Back for some Christmas cake and another couple of rounds of Mexican train. We sat at the table where the Christmas owl kept us company. It’s been sat here since the weekend. Owls are Mum’s ‘collectible’. At some point she must of said she likes owls and now there are all sorts of things will owls printed on them around their house and we have a few here too. This one usually sits in the windowsill at Christmas before being packed away. On the tree there is, at least one, owl decoration.
