Piercing the Sky

Had to go to Stowmarket today to collect some things and parked further out so that we had a walk around the town. Bright sunshine, very cold wind. Didn't try to take many photos (didn't want to expose my fingers!) but couldn't resist this view of the church tower with its spire. It's quite unusual for Suffolk & the spire has been replaced a few times. It blew down in the early 1700's & was replaced soon afterwards, then had to be taken down in the 1970's as it was unsafe. This version - a replica of the previous one - was installed in 1993/4.
