Ready for the start

Today is a highlight of my sporting year for me. It is the start of the Le Mans 24 Hours sportscar race. I have been several times now and I'm beginning to wish I was in North West France now. Here is a quick shot of some of my memorabilia including a cap signed by all 3 winning drivers from the 2008 race - Allan McNish, Dindo Capello and Tom Kristensen.

I will be rooting for the Audi team during the race as they are expected to battle the Toyota cars. I've got some croissants, some beer, some nibbles, and I might treat myself to a bacon butty in the morning to get it to the spirit of being there while I watch the race and listen to the excellent Radio Le Mans commentry on the internet.

Oh and as a warm up I'm listening to the first Test match between the British and Irish Lions against Australia. A truly great sporting day.
