A brief glimpse of sunshine
I didn’t go to Fareshare this morning. I couldn’t sit in the freezing cold, unheated office (which is a cubbyhole within the warehouse) for 4 hours. I felt quite bad - but after all, I am a volunteer. One of the paid staff would be able to do what I do, today.
I was pleased to see what I think are hazel catkins when I went out for a walk. I forced myself to go for a walk locally, including to the Post Office (very topical - I haven’t watched Mr Bates and the Post Office yet but the story is at last dominating the news). I sent off some birthday cards, not entirely believing they’ll get there.
I listened to a podcast about the post office/Fujitsu/ the government. What I found most haunting was when one of the women who ran a post office rang the Horizon helpline to ask why her accounts wouldn’t balance, she was told she was the only person who was having a problem. That lie is so sinister to me. Who told the helpline people to say that?
