It's A Sign!
Today was not going to be my town day. The plan was to walk down to the South common and take a few photos. If I'd thought it through properly I would have worn more appropriate footwear, but the fact that the common would basically be a bog had escaped me until I was about to set foot on it.
By then I needed a pee and knew I'd have to go via town to find a loo, so decided to make today my town day. The jobs I had planned for today will be done tomorrow instead.
I saw this sign by chance as I went over an old bridge near South Park. It's in the overgrown area beneath the bridge, I'm not sure how the person got there to set up the sign as I could see no way down.
I had a look on some of the job websites today. There was nothing I thought I'd have a cat in Hell's chance of getting. They want skills I've never even heard of for the most basic sounding jobs. Or they want you to have a full, clean driving license for jobs in a single location that I could walk to.
I know I need to get a job. There's this Idea in my head of working with a small group of nice people, maybe in an independent bookshop or a small cafe. Running around a chip shop at midnight on a Friday night is not something I really want to ever do again. Not that I have any chippy contacts any more...
Life is good at the moment. I can keep up with housework, read deeper books because I'm not perpetually knackered, spend time with the cat, enjoy cooking proper food when I want to rather than opening tins and packets, enjoy hobbies etc., etc.
But I will need to be working again soon, though I don't relish the thought of being stressed, rushed and exhausted all the time again.
Brian messaged me to say that the car has passed its MOT, so that's good news!
