Here I Go Again

After a very welcome two days off, it’s time to don the costume again for the final five shows. It all feels a little bit flat as we get to grips with the script again, not helped by a quiet audience. We’re really having to work hard to get them to boo and cheer in the right places. I’m going to say that they’re the sort of audience that prefers to listen to the dialogue and chuckle quietly at the jokes. At least, that’s what we’re telling ourselves in the dressing room. Hopefully they’ll make full use of the bar during the interval - a few drinks will definitely make Act 2 better!
Well, it was a bit better but it still felt quite downbeat, though we did get a good round of applause at the end. And we have managed to knock ten minutes off the run time so at least that’s a positive.
Still, we’re more than halfway through now and we’ve got larger audiences for the rest of the run. Things can only get better…
