Hot, hot, hot
Apparently the temperature in Oamaru today topped 33degC. It was just so hot and not a good day to be outside, so we mostly stayed inside. The washing dried beautifully and smelled lovely after being out in the sunshine and MrMacD had to water the garden when it cooled down a bit after supper. We had a quick visit from our lovely blipper friend, Mima, who dropped off eggs, raspberries and silverbeet (Swiss chard) plants.
We visited Mitre10 to buy a piece of timber to sit on top of the ranchslider frame, as the current frame isn’t big enough to take the double brackets required for a set of sunscreen blinds and blackout blinds. MrMacD put it up after lunch so we could get the measurements right. We spent most of the afternoon taking measurements, then ordering blinds for the ranchslider and the French door. We also took measurements for the “conservatory” area, did a dummy order to work out what brackets we need, then emailed the blind company, who will send the brackets so MrMacD can install them (when we’ve worked out exactly how to do that), then we can get accurate measurements for the blinds. It takes a lot of thought and a lot of time to get it right.
After supper I put some of the raspberries on trays to go into the freezer overnight, put some in a bowl to eat and left others to deal with tomorrow.
I haven’t had time to look at blip today. I’ll catch up soon.
The blip shows the sun coming through a stained glass window creating patterns on the windowsill.
