In the Name of ...

..Art! ..seen at an exhibit at our local art gallery entitled Life's Moods  - and no, I did not buy it!  The art works were not for sale.... 

This exhibit is an annual and very popular juried exhibit where members of the gallery are invited to enter one piece of art on a theme; awards are given in each of three categories...adult, youth and child... and of course, viewers are asked to vote for their favourite and that award is given out at the end of the exhibit. 

It is an interesting exhibit as it includes a variety of works - paintings, pen and ink, photographs, drawings, sculptures, collages, carvings, and multimedia pieces...whatever is one's chosen art form. I really like the idea of children being included. . Imagine ..how wonderful is that? A child whose artwork is recognized and valued would certainly be encouraged to continue in artistic pursuits, n'est-ce pas?   

FYI..this table did not win an award but the Avocado, Ham and Cheese,  one in the collage did... as did the dragon one called The Messenger.(extra). and I thought that the popsicle stick hockey one was rather creative too.... 

It was time to get out of the house and a short jaunt down the street to our gallery was a good way to do that. I have been immersed in several projects indoors, one of which is getting my 2023 Photo Yearbook up to date and prepared to go off to the printer, and paying the price of not having kept it up during the year! What was I thinking? Now that the Christmas paraphernalia have all  been stored away, and now that Maggie is showing some signs of getting back to her old self, I may actually make some progress on that...and eventually get back to blipping regularly...
