Umbellifers catching the sun
The weather forecast was right today. A brilliantly sunny morning was followed by cloud and a bit of drizzle.
We did well to go walking this morning through Mote Park where there were plenty of skeletal trees catching the sunlight or being reflected in the River Len. While walking along the banks of the river we saw a motionless heron waiting to pounce and a pair of little egrets. We also have a grey wagtail who visits our garden. A lovely bright, colourful bird at this this time of year.
While Susan went to see Doreen this afternoon I went to the allotment to prepare the way for those no dig beds. I took down the beanpoles and dismantled the brassica cage and replaced the wheel on the barrow.
A message on the local community hub asking if anyone had large cardboard boxes I could collect brought 5 offers straight way. That’ll be a job for tomorrow and Saturday. Then I can get barrowing the mulch onto the plot.
