After the rain …

Downtown Funchal at 7.30pm on a Saturday night.

We got the bus into town late afternoon for a concert at the Assembleia Legislativa da Madeira. The rain started at lunchtime and poured down constantly for five hours. The water was flowing in torrents down the streets and we sat watching the Orchestra Classica da Madeira with soggy feet! 
It is the orchestras 60th anniversary this year and they are having a number of concerts. Tonight was mainly Mozart with guest conductor Tibor Boganyi and soloist singer Tatiana Vizir. 
Sitting in the second row, and less than 10 feet from the soloist, you could not fail to be impressed by the strength of her voice!
