Garlic
This is a late posting.
It was a beautiful morning, so washing went out on the line to dry in the sunshine and MrMacD baked two sourdough loaves.
A the painter came to check a few things and talk to us about how he planned to proceed. He will start in our bedroom on Tuesday, so we will move into the second bedroom and clear everything out of our room so he has a clear space in which to work. After he left us he was going to talk to his son, G, our builder to tell him that he needs the mouldings putting up before he can start. Sure enough, later in the day we had a call from G, who will come on Monday to get all that work done.
MrMacD lifted his garlic, which we washed and laid out in the sun to dry. I picked a small bowlful of our own raspberries, which was very satisfying, then checked the last of the raspberries that Blipper Mima dropped in on Thursday and managed to find another tray to freeze, some to eat and some to mix in with our cereal.
We’ve been encouraged to join an organisation called Community Patrols New Zealand, as we felt it was something we could do to support the local community. Community Patrollers are trained to know what to look out for as they act as extra “eyes and ears” for the Police. We are currently on a three-month training/probation period and tonight is the second time we will go out with two experienced Patrollers to observe how and what they do. It will only involve one weekend night per month, so will hardly be onerous.
We’re quite busy at the moment, so I am behind with Blip. Apologies if I haven’t responded to comments. I will catch up soon.
