Patient Hummingbirds

We put the two feeders with warm sugar water out before first light this morning; the air temperature was 18F (-8C).
The hummingbirds responded soon after as the Sun rose. 
The sugar water was getting slushy by 11am so I brought the feeders again in to re-warm the water. 
When I brought them back out, I noticed a hummingbird waiting for me on a nearby shrub.
Our "Metalbird" owl seemed to be dressed in formal attire with its coating of ice.
