Wound up in Wexford

Sunshine

We've been having a run of sunny, but very cold days.  Nice to look at from inside, less great when you have to be out in it.

Today we had to take the car into Wexford.  We've (using the royal "we" here, W has been dealing with it) been coping with a slow puncture in the left front tyre for several months.  And we were also aware that the tread on the front tyres was rather low.  So today, we got both front tyres changed.

We've also had to jump start the car a number of times recently.  The chap at the tyre and battery centre could easily have sold us a new battery, but reckoned there's nothing wrong with the 12V battery*, we just need to trickle charge it.  So we then went to Halfords to buy a battery charger.  And into Woodies to get fence paint.

Then we called in to the garden centre to buy sunflower hearts and peanuts, for the voracious birds.

And on the way home, a warning message that the left headlight needs attention!  Hoping that this is a 'low battery' malfunction - otherwise we may need another trip to Wexford to get this sorted before we need to drive in the dark.

12V battery now charging.

I slept badly last night, so was dozing in the lounge with the electric fire glowing when I noted the evening sunshine on the wall.  Hoping for a better night tonight.

*EVs have (in addition to the large battery that provides motive power) a 12V battery to start the car, as well as to run certain functions.
