Gunnebo
this morning we managed to NOT sleep through the alarm and filled up on a great breakfast before packing & checking out. We caught a tram to Korsvagen and then a 10 minute bus ride to Molndal which is a beautiful lush green area south of the city with lakes & a nature reserve. We walked through the forest to Gunnebo House & Gardens and had a tour of the 18th century neoclassical villa. The tour guide spoke in Swedish for the majority of the group but we had a guide book & she was fluent in English and was so lovely translating a couple of bits plus answering our questions. After the your of the house we had coffee & homemade organic cakes in the coffee shop in the gardens. Back to the hotel to collect bags & get the airport bus tonLandvetter where our Swedish adventure began.
I'm so pleased that Helen recommended Sweden as somewhere to use my Avios for; it was a great 1st holiday break for me & Jodie and the perfect balance of city and nature. Nearly everyone we met has been more than helpful & friendly and I was struck by how clean Gothenburg is. I hope to come back to Sweden, perhaps checking out Stockholm next time...
