One for sorrow

I'm not actually feeling sorry for myself ... again I tried to get a photo of one of the numerous blue tits, great tits and long-tailed tits that are buzzing through the garden at the moment, with no great success. I probably need to build myself a hide or something. I've scattered bird seed over the patio in the hope of enticing them closer ... and now the cat is keeping a watchful eye on the scene.

Anyway, I managed to snap this magpie as it took off from one of the fir trees near our house. Beautiful birds ... I think they look almost prehistoric in flight.
