Tommy's birthday
Today is Tommy's birthday. I can still remember the day he was born 23 years ago, I guess every mother will never forget the details of birthing a child. He agreed to let me take his photo today. For years we wished he would get his haircut, now we all think it is too short, it was looking fabulous just before this latest haircut so he needs to grow it a bit more.
It was another very cold day with frozen ground but very little frost. After Xena's walk I took her to the dog groomer to get her nails cut as they are very long - in fact I have been remiss in getting this done sooner, so one nail has broken off and is causing her a bit of a problem. The groomer tried to cut the broken nail but she was yelping in pain, so it was left and I will have to check it doesn't get infected. She is continually licking it so hopefully it will be okay. I find with Xena we need to get her nails cut quite regularly, but with Murdoch we never needed to get his nails cut, I suppose every dog is different.
While I was out getting my hair cut, Tommy and Inca went out looking for waxwings but never saw any, then they went to Bushy Park to look for Little Owls but again no luck - it was probably too late in the day. Tommy went out last week quite early one morning and did see many waxwings nearby, but no such luck today.
We went out tonight to a local pub in Cobham for supper, it was very nice. We had an early booking which was great, I dislike eating too late at night.
