Kathy

It was my friend and ex colleague Kathy’s professorial inaugural lecture today. She teaches sociology at the medical school at the University of Southampton. She gave a brilliant lecture about her academic and teaching career. It was lovely to be there. My friend Angela who I haven’t seen for about 18 months also came and we spent some time together before the lecture. The white coat she’s wearing was one of her props … engaging medical students with sociology always needs a lot of props!
