Wall of fame

All tournament winners since the start 87 years ago have a portrait on the wall. The prize giving ceremony always stayed the same: first all players of the top eat a meal of split pea soup together. After that the prizes are given. The tournament did serve this soup to all players the first years, for free. Most players where workers from the steel factory and they could use the free meal, specially during the war. Now a days you can still eat split pea soup at the tournament and many people enjoy this a lot
