A Meandering Life...

Looking at the North York Moors

The little church is St. Michael's at Cowesby which is a small village of about 60 people. Not all the village is within the boundaries of the North York Moor but the church is. The field in front of me is in the NYM but I'm standing just outside.

The ridge behind the church is Pen Hill with Atlay Bank to the left. The smaller mound on the left is Howe Hill. Behind them is the village of Kepwick. Until the past year or so this ridge was know for its rhododendrons, well over 100 acres of them but in the interest of bringing back local diversity they have been mostly grubbed out.

This was taken during a little drive out this morning before the winds picked up. I think we're in for a rough evening/night.
