Mermaid Plait

My niece Hannah showed me how to do mermaid plaits, and here is my first attempt, on her older sister, Amy.

We were at my in laws. The children are now 9, 12, 13 and 15, and instead of playing together like they used to, after dinner they stay and talk. Even Mark - who is now 20 - came over for an hour. I straightened Amy's hair for her (after the plait) and listened to them talk about music, school and tv. It was lovely.

It reminded me of when I first met Chris's family and Stephen, Laura and David were that age. They are now 32, 31 and 27!
