Not much call for outdoor dining today. A raw day with smatterings of rain and gusty winds. It doesn’t look as if it’s going to be so bad in the SE compared to the west and north west. Batten down again.

We were in town for eye tests and to be relieved of large sums of money for new glasses and sunglasses. Our eyes were in excellent condition with distance viewing having improved. It was 6 years since our last tests.

We were prompted by discussions about eye health and subsequent pointers on other health matters by a programme on TV. The price of glasses has been an irrational deterrent. And I wonder how people who find the price difficult to afford can get glasses that meets their needs. Similarly with dentists.

The air fryer is going well. I did stuffed peppers tonight with celeriac chips. Unfortunately, I cooked the peppers on “air fry” rather than “roast” which gave them quite a burnt top. It didn’t spoil them though.
