Who's got gray head feathers??

That would be Scruffy. I've been wanting to get a picture of her and this is the best time, when they are settling down for the night.

I've noticed the gray on her head and at first I was thinking she was molting but no, she's just old! She's around 8 or 9 which is pretty darn old for a chicken. She's lived most of her life here on the property shifting from the lowly picked upon hen (hence her name, Scruffy) To the  matriarch of a tiny flock. She doesn't let them forget who's boss now.

Sister and Honey are in the background. They are all wondering why I've climbed into the coop and if I've come to do them in. Seriously, all the birds think I have evil intentions if I get too close even though all I do is give them treats all the time.
