Woodpigeon ( Columba palumbus )

I know a number of readers dislike pigeons.  Personally, I like pigeons and in my youth kept a few Fantails.  The day was yet again horrible and I wasn't tempted to try for outside blips, so yet again a desperation blip through the window.

If you think there are more Woodpigeons than there were you are correct.  The population has been increasing since the 1960s.  They aren't a species that travels far, the majority of ringing recoveries are from just across the channel with a few in southern France.
