A View From the Top…..
…… of the track that winds down into Anchorage in the Abel Tasman National Park. Margaret, her partner Steve and I walked into the Park from Marahau. A 12 km plus trek. There were one or two really gnarly sections of detours made after a terrible storm causing numerous slips along the track a couple of years ago. . Alas my day was marred when I tripped on a tree root only five minutes walk from the DOC hut and camping ground in the bay. My Leki stick fortunately saved me from more serious damage. I am now hobbling due to, I suspect, a badly sprained hamstring. Sigh. That has certainly slowed me down. Having finished our trek we returned to Marahau via water taxi. A rough 25 minute trip.
