A smaller man

Rory came down at lunchtime to pick up the picture of his that I had framed and to drop off a couple of boxes of storage, including the inevitable ‘box of my school work’. He added helpfully that I might find it quite interesting to read some.  To which I added a withering look.  We put a suitcase of his into the room off the barn that we call the ‘oubliette’ and he was looking at the few of Dad’s old suits that I can’t give to charity as they are too moth eaten.  He decided to take this old jacket even though it swamped him.  Said his Hackney friends would love it and he’d love it too as he remembered his grandfather in it.

We had lunch in the village pub, and the food was good but the wait rather long as they had an agency chef.

Did notes all day in the barn, interspersed with various calls.  A glimmer of good news on the development front.

Reading more Hilary Mantel as a palette cleanser before starting on a new novel.
