Common Grackle
Odd name I know, but that is apparently what this bird is called.
We spent a fairly lazy day driving round part of the Bruce Peninsula, stopping frequently for rests by the sea lake - in this case Georgian Bay which is part of Lake Huron. It might as well be sea when you see how huge it is, other than the fact that it is fresh water of course.
Pebble skimming at Big Bay, where the sign says it is the "Stone Skipping Capital of Canada" where we saw a Kingfisher on the telegraph wires, paddling and relaxing at Hope Bay, then wandering by the marina at Lion's Head, which is where the picture was taken.
Gosh its tough being on vacation - all those decisions to be taken, such as "do we stay a little longer or move on to the next place?" etc etc. Long may it continue!
