Sunset over Lake Mindemoya
Today we moved on from the beauty of Owen Sound KOA Kampground (yes that is how they spell it!) northwards to find the fairy ferry at the end of the Bruce Peninsula, for our trip over the water to Manitoulin Island. One hour and forty-five minutes on the car ferry on what is an inland lake to an island and then a car ride to one of many lakes for a more rustic campsite.
Having said on the journey that other than squirrels we had not seen any other wild 4-legged animals (Anne reminded me we had seen a turtle on the road yesterday!) we got here to spot a lesser chipmunk on the grass next to the campsite office (failed to get a photo) and what we think was probably some species of marten running on the jetty then swimming and fishing in the lake. This chap nearly got blipped, but he was a bit wet looking, so when the sun set over the lake he lost out! He'll just have to reappear another day if he wants to become famous!
We are here for another few days before moving on, but we did at last manage this morning to book campsites for the remainder of our trip, which, since it includes the long weekend when everyone goes camping, seemed like a good thing to sort out.
This campsite is very different to the previous two, and probably to those we have yet to visit, but has its own benefits, strengths, and unique identity. Just like us - all humans, all created in the image of God, yet unique in our gifting and personalities. All of value to Him.
