Brighton, the day after the Summer Solstice

No apologies for another black and white shot - again, colour would have been a waste today.

It was all change overnight from the dull, misty, frankly dank day before as we awoke to gale force winds and driving rain. Not the bright, sunny morning we hoped for.

After breakfast it was a bracing walk along the pier where this shot was taken. More like an Autumn Equinoxal gale in the middle of our supposed summer. Then a walk around the Lanes, followed by a coffee before making the journey back to Maidstone. The winds were so strong that we had considerable difficulty walking into it at times going back to the car.

Back home it was warmer, but no less windy. When will this weather turn?
