Little Egret #18
We had a couple of hours this morning at RSPB Burton Mere whilst it was dry. We've not been there at the weekend for quite some years, and now I remember why. We struggled to find a car parking space and it was very busy.
Maybe there was some rarity that had been reported bringing in all the twitchers we thought - sadly that was not the case - it was just business as usual for a weekend.
42 different species, but just one new one for our list.
Most interesting hide today was the far one which held a rather large flock of dunlin and a few redshank that kept taking to the air for no reason at all it seemed(extra). But it was nice to see them whirling around.
I liked this little egret that landed not far from the hide and started fishing - not very successfully though.
