Lunch on our anniversary

Today is Auckland Anniversary Day, and is also a public holiday for the old Auckland Province which otherwise is an anachronism. Other parts of New Zealand have a public holiday on a different Monday which is their area's anniversary. It is also the birthday of my youngest sister.

And of great significance for S and me, it is the day on which we were married. Many years ago. We celebrated by taking our daughters and the two Auckland-based grandsons to lunch. S booked us a table at a restaurant in the Viaduct precinct. 

We were surprised to find out that a Dragon Boat competition was being held with the finish line in front of us. One of the boats was crewed by women who have been treated for breast cancer. The second extra for today shows the boat at the end of a race in which they were second (of three). That was at least their fourth race.

The first extra was a gift from the kitchen (Chef). Before that I had taken the main photo in part to record her new T-shirt. The words are a direct quote from Barbie, the film. Unfortunately, the first word is not seen in full. The quote is "He's just Allen".
