We are family ….

Anniemay comes from a large family - two brothers and three sisters (including mollymay49).  As a result she has a lot of nieces and nephews - and now, great nieces and great nephews.

We’re up North because she’s organised a bit of a get together.  Not all are here - the family is spread far and wide, but she manages to find a pub that will accommodate 18 of us for Sunday lunch.

There’s a lot of catching up to do.  Anniemay provides each child with a bag containing colouring  books, pencils, puzzles and so on, so the adults get a few moments to share news and gossip.  

There’s a poignant moment too.

The young man talking to Anniemay (just on the edge of frame) is James, son of her younger brother Rob - sadly no longer with us.  The little girl is the granddaughter he never got to meet.

The extra shows another granddaughter Rob never got to meet.  

She’s pictured here with her dad, Gareth - married to James’ sister, Liz.  Fortunately Rob did get to meet Gareth.  I remember him saying “I think he’s the one…”. 

It's a great family and I'm pleased and lucky to be part of it.  And especially to have had Rob as a brother-in-law.
