Singapore, Day 6

We visited the botanic gardens today and can’t recommend it highly enough! Our first visit here was in 1990, when we stayed two nights in Singapore on our way to Indonesia on our honeymoon. The highlight today was definitely the orchid gardens - so many amazing colours and varieties. The rain forest walk was also beautiful with lots of bird life and sounds of nature.

We then decided to keep things easy and returned to The Penny Black on Boat Quay for fish and chips for a late lunch/early dinner. It’s nice to sit by the river, un-rushed.

Back in our own hotel area at night: call to prayer, smells reminiscent of Cairo, a little purchase of a bag and then a beer to end the day on Kandahar Street.
