Singapore, Day 7

Our last day here, before flying out this afternoon via Abu Dhabi.

We packed our bags, checked out of the hotel and took a taxi to The National Gallery. We were on the waiting list for a table for lunch at Violet by Oon, the restaurant at the gallery. We made sure to get there in good time to look at a few of the exhibitions, including the one with the Frida Kahlo self-portrait. We’d understood (as quite a few people had!) that it was a whole exhibition of Frida Kahlo’s work. However, no problem. I must say though, that the signage in the museum is sadly lacking and open to misinterpretation! We kept having to ask for help and be pointed in the right direction.

We got a table (confirmed when we arrived at the museum before we enjoyed the exhibitions) and enjoyed two starters and a main course to share. They’re all designed to share and we still over-ordered, despite the server reminding us! All delicious though, and I’m adding the menu, marked with the three dishes we had. If we’re lucky enough to be here again, we’d skip the first starter and have a salad instead.

Really, I have to say that this was a fantastic visit to Singapore! Were very grateful to be able to do this, especially in light of what’s going on in the world at the moment., We’re now blipping in the airport and our flight to Abu Dhabi leaves in 1.5 hours. It’ll be interesting to see how my sleep patterns work out, given that I’ve been in bed and ready to put the light out by 9pm these last couple of nights!
