Flat Calm

17.3C with lots of cloud and showers developing in the afternoon. No breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound seems to have settled down quite well after her week in boarding kennels although she won't let me far out of her sight yet. She must have needed her sleep last night because just about 11pm she went upstairs by herself and was fast asleep in her bed when I went up to check.

We had a quiet morning together in my little office/computer room. I had a look at the family history information I picked up from my second cousin last week and added some details to my family tree.

After lunch Maeve and I went for a walk. We went down to the shore and spent some time wandering along the beach. We saw two dog walkers with dogs but they soon disappeared out of sight. Maeve had a paddle as we walked along towards the Fishermen's huts.

The tide was well in and the boats were all floating quietly at their moorings. This view out to sea and towards the Fife coast shows just how calm it was.

There have been a few sharp showers since we returned home.

I have made a sketch of the Machrie Moor standing stones on Arran from a photo and transferred it to the board I got last Friday at the print workshop we did in Stromness. I have cut the lines in the board and will make one or more prints soon, once I decide what paper might be best to use :-)
