My mother

A swim early this morning, only four in the pool when I arrived but lots by 9.45am.

I decided to revisit our family tree on Ancestry, having renewed the annual subscription, and also needed to do the next page for my ‘Memory Book’ . The page is to be about my mother so I decided this was a nice photo as we don’t have many of her as a child. She was the youngest of eight children, her parents had a farm in a Dorset village. Her parents met when my grandmother went to be the village school mistress and I imagine she met my grandfather at church or something. I think she was about 3 or 4 in this photo which was obviously taken in a studio…..wearing the ‘Sunday best’ , the dress looks quite like the cotton christening dresses of the time.

Picked up an order of some clothes from our local food  M & S ….most have to go back so I’m hoping the return electronic system works as well as the pick up!
