A new dinosaur! At Wisley.
Although I am a member of the RHS the traffic problems on the A3 near Wisley have put me off visiting for a while. So today I went with a friend and the traffic was fine both ways. I think a lot of other people are staying away as it was so quiet at 10.15 when we arrived and all the time we were there. No queue for coffee and so few people in the gardens and virtually none in the shop. I was agreeably surprised but not good for their sales.
The glasshouse was being prepared for a new exhibition of plants at the weekend and apparently they have various prehistoric models to go with them, hence the dinosaur by the entrance. I may go back in a couple of weeks, after half term.
This afternoon I went to help with the primary school gardening club where each child put a potato in a labelled egg box ready for it to start growing and then they will plant outside. They also did some weeding and clearing up lots of leaves in pots and beds.
