wader + fish

This is in the harbour at St Peter Port - I thought maybe it was a white egret but having looked at Swampy's blip of one, I think perhaps it isn't. It has the feathery bits at the front chest like a heron and the feathery bits behind its head. Its bill and legs are black.

This morning, an aunt that I haven't met for about 50 years came round to our apartment - she lives on Guernsey and is my dad's half sister. When my dad died we lost touch with his family. The other sister is coming across from Southampton on Wednesday so we'll be meeting up with them both on Thursday.
