Wha's Here is Stuck Here

A wild day of gales and rain.  Drier tonight, but wintry showers passing over.  Some lightning strikes, but not close to me.  

A quiet morning puttering about the house.  Popped by Laura's on my way to work.  Late shift in the airport, chaos all day.  Due to the gales, all flights were cancelled.  We managed a decent walkies tonight, now feet up.

The perfect storm hit today, and not just the gale force 10/11 winds.  All flights in and out of Shetland were cancelled, not even the boat as back up, that's been cancelled too.  Everyone who's here, is stuck here.  Along with the cancelled flights, everything flight is full over the next few days, due to visitors wanting to return home after Up Helly Aa celebrations.  Trying to find passengers new flights, especially with connections or more than two people travelling proved difficult, but we got there in the end.  We even managed to find everyone accommodation, which was a struggle too.  Flight after flight, the passengers bombarded the check-in desks.  Fingers crossed for a calmer day, and all flights in and out, no room for errors.  A brief stop on my way to work, I accidentally caught this rabbit crossing the track road.  He'll have his on struggles on a day like this, island life is tough at times.  Taken at Greenfield, Cunningsburgh.
