Life's Little Moments

Wild Walk

I met up with three of my birder friends this morning at the Refuge where we enjoyed a nice long walk around the marsh.  We clocked just under 4 miles in temperatures that were... let's just say "brisk".  Saw thousands of geese (both Snow and Canada) as well as several hawk species, harriers, ducks and eagles.  And a single deer who was reluctant to give up the path in spite of us approaching from one direction and a single hiker approaching from the other.  Finally, at the last moment, it raised its bright, white tail and leapt into the woods.

Hubs and I watched "Erin Brockovich" last night - a great movie.   I'd seen it when it first came out, but it was fun to watch it again.

Even though February is technically the shortest month of the year, it always feels the longest to me.  One must get through February to get even a glimpse of spring.  And although our winters aren't as cold and snowy as they once were, it still tends to be darker and gloomier.  One day down, 28 to go.

Plain dark today.
