For the family

Ready to roll !

A manic day. An assortment of positives and negatives, which I will attempt to record, not necessarily in the correct order.

We have an event arranged for tomorrow and the big decision for B was ‘what to wear’ or should I say ‘what fits’. I took the opportunity to get him to try on all his trousers. He never throws anything away. Whilst we have been here we have both mainly lived in a limited number of items. B has put on weight, so some things are a bit tight. Clothes for tomorrow have been chosen, hope that they will be suitable.

The post lady delivered a bundle of items. A long awaited package containing a tiny pot of touch up paint for the kitchen units, a birthday card from Dobbies garden centre with a voucher for coffee and cake for two for my forthcoming birthday, an appointment letter for a cardiology clinic in Derby in a couple of weeks for me and a Christmas card from a friend in Dublin. The latter brought mixed emotions. My friend’s son was very ill with a malignant brain tumour the Christmas before last and when I didn’t get a card this past Christmas, I thought the worst. Today I opened the card and saw that it was signed from both of them, and was in tears with relief, pleasure ….he has responded to treatment. It wasn’t all good news as the reason the card has arrived late is that she was badly injured in a car accident in October and only discharged from hospital a couple of days before Christmas.

This was followed by a phone call with details of an appointment for medical diagnostics for B. Fortunately all dates are different and can be fitted in without need for any changes.

We collected Olive to take her with Amber to kennels for the weekend, but that didn’t go to plan. There was a hiccup with her vaccination card and she is not completely covered so  couldn’t stay. We had to take her home and Stefan has had to make alternative arrangements for tomorrow. Poor Amber must be wondering what happened to her mate who didn’t follow her into the kennel.

A trip to the chippies for supper. I’ve never seen such a big portion of chips. We shared a large cod and had less than half the chips between us. Amber missed a treat !!!!
