I’ve just returned home after a long day…first at work, followed a sauna and steam and then meeting up with a friend to see “The Nettle Dress” ]www.theguardian.com/film/2023/sep/17/the-nettle-dress-review-dylan-howitt-textile-artist-allan-brown-a-husbands-grief-becomes-a-thing-of-beauty-in-lyrical-documentary?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other]
This was a beautifully made film about a man who spends seven years making a dress out of nettles, which he gathers from a local wood on walks with his dog, after losing both his father and his wife to cancer.
The film took five years to make and is intended to be shown at small screenings like this one.
