Feeding Time
Lots of young birds have flown from their nests in the last couple of weeks and are now a very pleasant addition to the garden. As soon as you go outdoors you are struck by the constant chatter from young mouths wanting food.
When we have been sitting outside for lunch Mr Blackie appears at our feet looking for some crumbs. He appeared last year and has become quite tame, even jumping onto the table to pinch a biscuit when he gets a chance! It seems his commitment to feeding chicks makes him quite bold.
This morning, while I was out trying to get a blip of 4 lovely baby Great Tits, Mrs Blackie appeared on the wall beside me with her beak full of food. As I had the camera ready to go she was quickly blipped before she picked up a few seeds and flew off. I haven't a clue what she has in her mouth and the second shot I got of her was no more enlightening. Mrs B reckons its a moth but maybe some of you out there will have other suggestions!
