Shrimp Plant…

… We have managed to keep one of these plants going since the year 2001. Sometimes two or three. Sometimes we’ve feared we’ve lost them. But, here we are, still hanging on with at least one.

And we have water again (yesterday we didn’t, for the evening)!
We do not keep bottled water ‘in’, so it was very weird having to think about even simple things, like hand washing, with no water coming out of the tap. We considered the water butt in the garden but I remembered a hot water bottle I hadn’t emptied, which was a saving grace.
It made us think how frighteningly close disaster could be…

I’m back on the ‘writing’ treadmill but have made great headway today, while Himself watched the rugby. If I work hard tomorrow I might be able to relax and enjoy next week.

While I was working today someone called on the phone. (A number I didn’t recognise). I dickered, but opted to answer (owing to the Elderlies; you never know?). It was someone from my past (some 20 years ago) who freely admitted they had rung me in error!
(Respect!). We managed the whole embarrassment reasonably well, considering. But, I wondered what I would have said if I’d made the call. I know I would have had an awful sinking feeling. Phone calls have changed so much in 20 years. It seems etiquette to text first these days.

I miss old phone calls.
