This building started out in 1893 as as the Frank James Home for Retired Seamen. Frank James was an explorer and the weather vane is a tribute to his Yacht - the Lancashire Witch.
It later became a cottage hospital but sadly, for many years, it has stood empty whilst developers decide what to do with it. Such a shame for a Grade II Listed Building with so much heritage.
