Closely Cropped
Today's walk was from Dunster, up through the forest onto Gallox Hill, where there are the remains of the banks and ditches of two Iron Age hill forts. It's easy to see why the location was chosen as a defensive position, though it is very exposed up there on a day like today! The extra shows the view to Dunster and out into the Bristol Channel from the second fort we reached, Bat's Castle. Exmoor ponies graze the area and help to maintain it.
