They are back

My goldfinches visit the feeders regularly and cost me a fortune in sunflower hearts. I have no idea why they vanished for a couple of weeks, including the weekend of the Big Garden Birdwatch. 

I glanced out of the window today and was watching the long tailed tits when I noticed that four goldfinches had returned. 

Hiding ? 
Trying out better feeders elsewhere?
I don’t mind.
I’m just pleased they’ve returned. I love hearing them and seeing sometimes as many as twenty five of them at a time.
