Carmen

I went to the live screening of the Metropolitan Opera's latest production of Carmen. It was wonderful! The setting was very cleverly modernised, and I thought it worked really well. It was transposed from 19th century Seville to 21st century American South West border, and the original tobacco factory became an arms factory. The original toreador became a rodeo star.
The singing was amazing... especially 27 year old Aigul Akhmetshina in the tole of Carmen.
