A male blackcap forages below the suet feeder
This morning I watched the birds coming to the suet feeder outside the back door. When the blackcaps turned up I picked up my camera and shot a few pictures through the sliding patio doors. We have up to five male, and three female blackcaps which visit, although they only occasionally appear all at once, mostly on the goat willow tree a few yards away from the feeder.
I'm not sue why this male took to exploiting the area beneath the feeder as there. was plenty of food in it. But it gave me this better view for a picture than the crowded feeder itself.
