Ex-tree
Distant sounds of chain-sawing and shredding from the back of the building turned out to be the long threatened removal of the maple that was causing the car park to erupt. A pity to see it go, but it was becoming quite disruptive, at a time when the private parking spaces here are needed more than ever. I don't think the trees on the corner are under threat though.
Then the tree surgeons went away leaving just the blokes with the cherry picker who were doing something up the front of the building (see extra) - they seemed to be inspecting the ramparts.
D off to Fife this evening to give a talk on medieval graveyards on Zoom - whereas I'll be in the back room here doing an online maths tutorial. I don't know how we can bear the excitement.
