Mrs Blackbird in a tangle

I came across Mr and Mrs Blackbird in the surgery car park as I went to pick up a prescription. Mr Blackbird was half buried in the hedge, his beady eye trained on me, while Mrs B was hopping around in something of a a tizwaz, trying to make some sort of sense of the bundle of stuff she had picked up in her beak. Presumably a bit of nest repair is required. Soon they both disappeared into thick foliage, leaving me with this blip.

Its Latin name is Turdus merula, and in Spanish it is known as the 'mirlo común'. The male of the species is vivid black, usually with a bright yellow beak. The blackbird sings beautifully, typically at the end of the day from the highest point he can find.
